研究內容概述:
We use classical and quantum Monte Carlo to study the physics in spin glasses, strongly correlated electron systems, and quantum magnets. We are implementing a very efficient parallel algorithm called parallel tempering to study the complex physics of spin glasses. This algorithm has very broad application, including protein folding, parallel optimization, etc. We use stochastic series expansion QMC to study the exotic states in quantum materials. We currently are focusing on the transitions among supersolid, superfluid, and insulating states in some spin/boson systems.
